If you’re like me, you’ll think “I can do this.” Stop! Don’t listen to yourself. I’ve been there, and I’ve done failed at that, okay! This is what I’m here for, to help you not make the same mistakes as me, and to learn from my experiences. And, although I do have fond memories of my first experiences, I know that I did a lot of things wrong, and I could do so much better now.
And, as fashion brand owners, we always need to make business decisions based upon if there is a return on investments. And producing a fashion show is one of those decisions that you have to determine if it's worth it or not.
In this episode of the FastTrack Your Fashion Brand Podcast, I’m talking with Mikey Koffman, the founder of Endless Road Entertainment and Creator of Los Angeles Fashion Weekend, Endless Nights Concert Series, Palm Springs Fashion Weekend, Fashion Splash and The L.A. Fashion Awards. She launched her career in public relations bi-coastally, with renowned fashion brands, DA-NANG, Stitch’s, and Joe’s Jeans, from inception to becoming household names.
And her incredible zone of genius is producing and creating one-of-a-kind luxury experiences for brands like Porsche, Ford, Nobu Hotel Las Vegas, Caesar’s Palace, Coca-Cola. Mikey is the Creator and Executive Producer of Los Angeles Fashion Weekend, Endless Nights Concert Series, Palm Springs Fashion Weekend, Fashion Splash and The L.A. Fashion Awards. In this episode, she is bestowing her wisdom upon you and is giving away the secrets to her success.
Okay, if you’re like me, which I’m guessing you are, you’ll think you can do it all. “Oh, I can plan this, no problem.” I’ve designed my collection, I’ve built my company from the ground up (remember, I started my company in my parent’s dining room), nothing can stop me!
This monster of a thing known as a fashion show just might. So, Mikey says, and I agree, that the biggest mistake fashion designers make, is trying to produce it ourselves. Doing a fashion show is enough stress as it is, but trying to produce the show on top of that, will drive you crazy.
And, you don’t need to do that to yourself. Hire a professional, do your research -- what do they have to offer you? How will you benefit from the event that they will host, and vice versa?
It is so important to include this in your budget for the year. But, where do you put it? Marketing and SALES!!!
Yes, this is a sales event. You are trying to sell your products. But, you are also marketing to potential buyers and wholesalers. So, although this is a bit of a large undertaking and can cost a pretty penny when done properly, the return of interest should be great!
Trust me, you’re going to want to hear what Mikey has to say about these 5 tips. She has done it and seen it all. So tune in to this episode of FastTrack Your Fashion Brand Podcast. Mikey’s tips to help you have a successful fashion show are:
